People are idiots

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
You people are idiots if you thought that a 200.00 warranty would get you a new couch in 7 years that had Normal wear and tear. The warranties were for accidental damages only and of you were told otherwise by the sales person trying to make a little more commission, you should have read what you.bought. stainsafe was a very crappie company and they did a lot of shady stuff as well, but can't be blamed for the stupidity of others thinking they got a real leather couch for 1200 bucks or that a 200 warranty would get a 3000 mattress replaced after 7 years. People are dumb stupid. athe and gullable.

I worked there

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They wanted me to lie about having licenses for 18 servers when we only had one license between the 354 Hyatt and Blue Heron offices. We had about 150 computers and I was told by the CFO to put licenses for software on all of them even on those in employees homes. I told him all we need is one mad employee and they can call Microsoft. I don't want to be held responsible. He said 'You are just too paranoid." We had only 35 PC licenses. He said I was to tell the accountant that we had expenses of $50,000.00, ok $25,000.00 for computers. I said I couldn't tell her and she agreed it was hard enough keeping different sets of books and was looking for a new job herself. He wouldn't let me buy any computers. I told him that I could no longer work there. He asked if I would stay on for two more weeks to get my replacement trained. I agreed. After being there Monday morning for about 4 hrs. teaching my replacement the CFO said "What are you doing here?" Your fired, LEAVE NOW! I was shocked. My replacement lied so much employees called me to let me know what lies he was spreading. Especially about what I supposedly called the female Canadian manager. I had a zero tolerance for swearing. The employees thought I was a good IT Mgr and threw me a nice going away party at their expense, not StainSafes. Owner bonuses were so wonderful for them. None of this information is fictitious. Kickbacks was another issue is why I would not buy from certain vendors. Oh well, this is old history and I feel sorry for those not covered by their warranties.

I worked there many years ago, what time frame were you there?

There were different owners and different CFO's curious if we worked for the same CFO.

This company does not respond and is vulgar.

I bought a leather couch from JC Penney and the leather was wearing after 6 months. Adrian employee# 103135, was unprofessional and threatening on the phone and refused to help. He laughed out loud when I asked to talk with a manager and then hung up on me. I sent a letter to the company and it was returned unopened. I was told our conversation was recorded and wanted to use this as proof to how I was treated. The address is the same as their company website. Do not do business with this company. It should be shut down.

Company does not respond!!!!!

We bought a love seat at Harlem furniture along with this "warranty" We did not know this is "bonded leather". Who knew this is 17% leather mixed with 83% vinyl and sprayed on the furniture. We had issues with it flaking off. They would come out and patch it with a very toxic smelling stuff. It makes the entire house smell. After many service calls, Harlem Furniture replaced it with another piece. The same problem is happening again and we have had more service calls. The last service rep told us it was a manufacturer defect. We tried and tried to get a copy of the report, but we are not allowed to have a copy. Next time we call a different story, lie after lie and they put you on hold for very lengthy times. DIFFICULT people to deal with. Don't buy bonded leather and don't buy this warranty!!!

Can't even locate them to submit claim

I tried the toll free number on my receipt and no longer in service . I bought the warranty in 2009 and now have a chair that is falling apart and no one to contact. I can not locate them online. All I found was a lot of complaints but why is consumer affairs doing nothing about this company who has been ripping people off for years! Should be a class action law suit by now. If so, I am in. Never again will I spend the extra money just to get ripped off. To finish my 100 words: I Hate Stainsafe

StainSafe will do everything they can not to honor your warranty

StainSafe (aka) WorryNoMore (aka) Global Care Solutions (aka) Prestige Protection. This is a waste of your money and they will try every trick in the book to not honor the warranty with you. Luckily I read up on them on this site (and several others) before calling and was ready for their shenanigans. Keep in mind that the interaction below relates to a Microfiber couch I purchased at Macy's 1.5 yrs ago. 1) Cushion cores are not covered. I asked for specific language in writing that says "Cores are not covered", which they could not provide. They did provide copies of the warranties via email, which said "Microfiber furniture" is covered. This, according to them, does not cover cushion cores as they do not fall under "microfiber". I pointed out cushions fall under "furniture". At this point, it's their interpretation vs. yours. This seems like a potential basis for legal action, as the contract language is murky and the intent is not clearly transmitted in the language. 2) Do not be vague about timing and call as soon as it happens. You have a 10 day window to report it, period. 3) Do not clean the fabric until you call them and get specific instruction from them that it is ok to clean. I personally think this is asinine, but the wording is very clear on this. You won't win on this point. 4) Call the manufacturer first and find out the exact terms of their warrantly. StainSafe will not honor anything that is still under manufacturer warranty. They told me my couch was covered for 5yrs, but when I inquired further with the manufacturer, it turned out they only covered manufacturing defects. Things to keep in mind: 1) The first round of customer support folks supposedly cannot hang up on you. If you do not hang up on them they must stay on the line. They'll go silent and do everything they can to make it sound like you've been disconnected, but if you stick around they will too. 2) Ask for a supervisor after you are done with the first round of customer service, regardless. They can almost always do more for you. I told my supervisor that I wasn't calling to complain about the first lady,I was looking to verify some inconsistencies and clarify additional points. My first rep was decently professional (luckily), so I made sure to vocalize that with her supervisor to let her know I wasn't on an indiscriminate warpath. 3) Be very clear about what it is you want from them, be it the exact furniture parts or the exact service you are looking for. If they won't honor it and you disagree with the reason, you can make the best of it and ask for a full refund of whatever you paid for the warranty. This will work better if they cannot provide explicit, written documentation referencing exactly why the warranty is void. Don't let them sucker you with their subjective interpretations of vague contract phrasings. Things you can bring up that seem to carry weight: Better Business Bureau, your State Attorney General's Office, the Federal Trade Commission & its Bureau of Consumer Protection, any large-scale political and/or media connections you have access to. They are scammers, and all scammers fear exposure. Let them know on the front end that you are aware of their usual tactics. I went on the quasi-offensive with them and it seemed to work this round. Their main service number is 800-916-****. Hours are M-F 8am-9pm EST, Sat 9am-5pm EST. If you purchased at Macys, there is a secondary customer service number you can call once a claim number is generated, which seems to be Macy's "liaison" office to StainSafe. 888-381-****. People on this line seem to be StainSafe employees but they are affiliated with Macy's and seem to fall under Macy's umbrella. It's pretty convoluted.

Can not get the company to respond

I purchased the warranty after I had ordered a sofa and love seat with custom fabric from Carls. The salesmen at Carls furniture assured me this was a great warranty. I questioned him on the coverage and was told if I poured red wine on the sofa and ruined it the warranty would still cover it. Now I can not get Stainsafe to answer my e mails and the phone # on the warranty is just a fast busy signal. The expression "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is" Well that is what this warranty is. Now I have a ruined sofa and a warranty that is useless.

The warranty is useless. I bought a leather sofa from Macy's and got a small rip on it I called them and they said they don't cover it because the rip was caused by the peeling .....so what they expect .

Really really bad service would never recommend this

warranty.

You will never get your claim approved

They claim when you purchase the warranty it will cover everything- be warned, when you make a claim you have to know what the stain is exactly (see whats covered and give them something from the list) and make sure the stain was discovered within the last 5 days or it will be denied. Oh and if you have one denied claim because you say, didn't discover the stain within the last 7 days and one denial is on record forget it, they will continue to deny all claims. How could this company still be in business? Stainsafe is a rip off

Uniters North America / Stainsafe

Shame on me. Though I had heard and read the terrible reviews on this company I was persuaded by the retailer (Macy's) to purchase this warranty on a very expensive leather couch. I have a blue stain on the couch and I have no idea what it is or how it got there. It almost looks like a blue hue/stain from dye from blue jeans but I really don't know what it is. I called as soon as I noticed it and was promptly told that my claim was denied on the grounds that it was not an "accident". He said they cover accidental stains but not intentional stains or normal wear. Though the stain mysteriously appeared and I certainly did not intentionally stain my 1 year old $4000 leather couch I would think it could be classified as an accident, but they would not budge on their denial. Maybe I should call back and tell them that I had a wild party at my house and my guest "accidentally" spilled something on my couch. Bottom-line, this warranty is worthless. Consumer beware. Do not waste your money on this warranty.

This company is a complete rip off. I purchased my furniture at JCP and let the associate talk me into purchasing this warranty.

I called last week to submit a claim stating that I had black marks from marker that my grandchild got ahold of. When asked when i noticed it I answered 2 or 3 weeks ago but just had not had time to spend on the phone to make the claim. My claim was denied because it had to be reported within 2 weeks.

Also because I said it was a black marker and not a black pen they would not cover it. I have since called JCP and canceled my card and told them that I was totally amazed that they would sell their customers a warranty from a company like Uniters North America that is so corrupt and dishonest.

Guest

If you call back, they will tell you , the call is recorded and they can't change that information on a claim. Don't waste anymore time with th they will deny your claim..

Take it as what it is a loss.

And good luck . :sigh

My letter to value city

This letter is in regards to a service I purchased from Value City Furniture. This is in regards to Global care solutions aka StainSafe. This company has a D+ rating on the better business burro. Many bloggs on the internet are using value city and stain safe interchangeably in their complaints about the company and their policy. When value city keeps this type of company your organizations suffers a great deal. Your sale associate went on and on about what a wonderful product this is. I have had a horrible experience with them. Part of the problem is that they are telling me to call the store I purchased the furniture from to get a copy of the terms and service. I feel that it becomes your issue because you are offering a product that is in my opinion a total scam to its customers. I am not asking for anything special except a simple terms of service warranty of the product. I also suggest you look closer to your agreement with Stain safe I cant help but think of value city when I think of the experience of this product.

Stain Safe a big rip off!

I purchased over $5,000 worth of furniture from American Signature in Sarasota, FL. We had the Stain Safe 7 year protection plan. Our love-seat and chaise were sold as a sectional not two pieces. The love-seat had a spill which could not be repaired. American Signature no longer has this model or color. Stain Safe said the would only cover the love-seat and I had credit for the love-seat only. What can anyone do with a chaise with one end and a different love-seat. Stain Safe is not honest with the public at all. I would never use them again!

Uniters provided the worst customer service possible. I purchased a Stainsafe "Diamond" warranty and called in today for a simple claim that WAS covered.

I was denied. Not because it wasn't covered, but because I could not tell them what made the mark on the leather. I travel all week for work and when I got home and saw the marks on the couch, I got out my Stainsafe warranty paperwork and called uniters. I guess I should have called my husband at his office first to find out what the color transfer was from.

When my claim was denied I was told it was because I could not tell them what it was. I offered to pick up my other phone and call my husband to get them an answer and they said it was too late, I was denied.

What a horrible company, what a horrible representative! I will never waste money on furniture warranties again!

Stainsafe- The Worst Company Ever

We purchased Stainsafe when we bought our cherry wood kitchen set two years ago. A few months ago I started noticing heat spots. I called Stainsafe today to file a compliant. Turns out the heat spots are not covered because I was HONEST and told the rep that it happened about a month ago. Because I didn't file within 7 days it would not be covered! What a rip off. It shouldn't matter...it's a 5 year warranty!!! And what's the difference if it happened 7 days ago or a month. It still happened!! Horrible company!

I called today and said I noticed some of the problems TODAY, and they still didn't accept the claim for things that ARE covered! Total scam!

They haven't heard the last of me. What a waste of money! And to the comment who blames the consumer, ridiculous! They won't accept claims that should be accepted.

They are scammers! I will never waste my money again on this nonsense!

Guest

The reason why they have the 7 day rule is because at that point, they are more likely to be able to repair the piece at a price that won't cost them a great deal of money. However, if people wait longer then that the problem worsens and then they have to pay for a total replacement and it costs the warranty company more money to handle the claim.

That's why they created the 7 day rule. It's also stated in the contract given at the store.
